Give up so you won't give in

Do you ever feel worn out? Do you ever feel exhausted or profoundly discouraged?

Dan 7:25 says, "He will speak against the Most High and oppress His saints."

Beth Moore quotes the definition of oppress which "literally means 'to wear away' or 'to wear out', as one would wear out a garment."

She goes on to say, "One of satan's most effective schemes is simply to wear God's people out."

I can see that. I can feel that.

BUT, Beth goes on to remind us that we have the unlimited power of the Holy Spirit within us that can never be worn out! That same power raised Jesus from the dead! What incomparably great power we have!!

But do we recognize it? Do we draw on it? Or do we keep operating out of our own strength and end up ready to throw in the towel?

I'm trying more intentionally every day to say, "Dad, I can't do it alone! Thank you for your Holy Spirit...fill me again today that I may be led by your Spirit, and bear the Fruit of your Spirit."

I know satan wants to oppress us until we give in and give up, but if we give up our lives to the Lord and allow His strength to work in us, we won't ever give in to the lies of the enemy.
